# MariaDB Server 10.5.3 RC now available

MariaDB is pleased to announce the immediate availability of MariaDB Server 10.5.3. This is a [Release Candidate (RC)](https://staging-mdb.com/kb/en/release-criteria/) release. While it should not be used in production, we invite active testing of it in development environments so that we can get necessary [feedback](https://jira.mariadb.org) on the path to our first MariaDB 10.5 Stable (GA) release.

This release features the new SQL enhancement “WITHOUT OVERLAP”. This constraint definition is used with Application-Time Period Tables to ensure that in tables, defined periods cannot overlap.
